Michelle was born and raised in San Francisco. She started dog walking when she was 16 years old as her first summer job. She went on to be the go-to person for pet care amongst her friends and family. In 2007, she made it official and started her first business named Barks In Parks. She ran it successfully for 8 years and then closed it down to relocate to Southern California for a short period. During this time, she continued to work for other pet care businesses as a valued asset of their team.
She and her husband made their way back to the bay area and eventually San Francisco proper in 2019. When the pandemic started, she slowly started to rebuild her business again. Eventually she acquired a pack from Hang Around Hound as they were phasing out their group outings. She started over with a new business name and purpose to serve dogs that have special needs. From mobility issues to reactive behavior. With over a decade of experience, there is not much she hasn’t dealt with. She loves earning a dog’s trust and seeing them thrive. She looks forward to earning your trust as well!
Not only are they the spokes-doggos, but they are also Michelle’s personal doggos. Since she made them the face of the business, they insisted we acknowledge them somewhere. It’s a job they take very seriously!
Tobias was named after a character from one of his mom’s favorite shows at the time. He was rescued by his aunt from someone who wasn’t taking the best care of him. When presented with the offer to keep him Michelle succumbed to his sweet puppy face.
Doja Pug is named after the music artist, Doja Cat. When trying to calm her on her first car ride home her mom put on some music to help soothe her. For whatever reason her music settled her nerves and helped her calm down through the transition of going to the 3rd foster home in a week. Thankfully Michelle fell in love with her and christened her Doja Pug.
Together they do the important work of tolerating all their mom’s clients. They would prefer to be the only dogs around but are grateful for the life it affords them. If you see them in transport, it’s best to just let them be. They’re working. Unless of course you have a treat. In which case, they will love you forever!
